First Light Do burn for at least 1-2 hours on your first burn to allow the wax to melt all the way to the outer edges of the container. This ensures an even burn for your subsequent burns. Trimming Your Wick Do trim your cotton wick to ¼ inch(~5mm) with a wick trimmer or scissors before every burn. Untrimmed wicks may lead to smoking and excessive soot. Burn Time <4 Hours Never burn a candle for longer than four hours at a time. Anything more may cause overheating and the flame may be too large and unstable. Putting Out Your Candle Do use a wick dipper or candle snuffer, if available, as blowing out your candles will lead to smoking. Do not touch or move the candle until it has completely cooled. Safety First Never leave lit candles unattended. Keep them away from children and pets. Avoid drafts, vents or air currents. Never burn on or near flammable materials. Always place candles on a level heat-resistant surface. Last Light Never burn your candle all the way to the bottom, as this may cause the bottom of the container to overheat. Leave ¼ inch(~5mm) unmelted wax to cool and discontinue use.
